The last few years (and the next few years ... at least till 2008) has been the most dreaded years for the american automobile companies. This phase could well see Toyota taking over from GM as the largest automobile company. I was looking into the reasons on why the US companies in general (GM and Ford) and the western auto companies (including Fiat, DC)  in general are doing so badly, while the Japanees and Korean companies are doing so well. I came up with some interesting facts on who owns the auto companies --
